Breaking News: Dagger/Hilt is not dead!

Google is now working towards Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) support!

After a long silence, it’s exciting to see Eric finally provide an update confirming that KMP support is officially on the roadmap. While there are still plenty of hurdles ahead, from nullability and visibility issues to dealing with javax/jakarta and KSP2 dependencies, the most important takeaway is: they’re working on it.

This means we’re no longer forced to abandon Dagger/Hilt or switch to other DI libraries just to support KMP. Whether you’re a fan or not, having the option to continue with a mainstream DI framework matters.
